Meet SimpliSafe’s Core Components

SimpliSafe’s award-winning home security system launched in the UK in 2019 and it’s a hit with those wanting to add that extra layer of protection to their home.

Still keen to find out more about the system itself? Let us give you an overview of our three core components that come with every system.

The Base Station is the ‘brains’ of the system, it:

Features a 95dB siren – it’s as loud as having a home surround sound system at full blast.
It’s what all the sensors and hazard detectors are connected to, so if one was triggered by an intruder for example, it’d sound the alarm.
The Base Station is also the device that sends the alarm signal to the monitoring centre (if signed up to our Pro Premium monitoring service).
The stylish design blends in with the home’s interior so it doesn’t look out of place, AND, it’s available in two colours – Cloud and Obsidian.
When setting up the Base Station, place it somewhere central in the home near a plug socket. If there’s a power outage, don’t panic, we have a built-in back-up battery that will kick in and protects for a full 24 hours.

The Wireless Keypad is what ‘controls’ your SimpliSafe system, it:

Pairs and names your sensors and hazard detectors.
Arms and disarms the system.
Changes the system’s mode to Home, Away or Off.
Adjusts some of the sensors’ settings.
Has a touch-to-wake keypad where it lights up when you need to see it and goes dark when you don’t.
It is battery operated so doesn’t need to be plugged in – you can put it anywhere you like.
Like the Base Station, it comes in two colourways – Cloud and Obsidian.

The SimpliCam keeps an eye on your home, it:

Has 24/7 HD video so you can watch for free from your smartphone, tablet or computer.
Alerts you for free the instant it detects motion so you can see what’s happening and take action.
Has intelligent sensors which are calibrated to detect the unique heat signature of humans.
Has 120 degree field of vision.
Features a two-way talk so you can hear what’s happening at home and also speak by clicking on the icon on the phone app.
Has night vision so you can see what’s happening in the dark too.
